“…from now on do not sin” (v. 11). This is important for each one of us. Our God does not care about our past, he does care about our present and future. The moment we acknowledge Jesus Christ as our Lord & Savior, believe in him, and confess our sins, He is faithful & just to forgive our sins. However, we cannot continue in our sins. “Whoever follows me will NEVER walk in darkness but will have the light of life” (v. 12).

Time and again we see that when Jesus was in this world, he clearly knew where he came from and where he is heading towards during his time in this world. Everything he did in this world and every time he spoke, he only spoke what the Father wanted to say, in the way our life in this world should be similar to Jesus, relying heavily on the commands from above

Jesus said “I do not do anything on my own, but I speak these things as the father instructed me”. We have to follow God’s instructions.

Even though Jesus has (sinless) rights to stone her as per v8:7 he didn’t at (v:8:11). Is HE breaking or overriding Moses law? Isn’t HE suppose to fulfill the law as per (Matthew 5:17)? Actually HE is. How? He proved law is to convict not to condemn which will happen by only Gods love. Law – Love = condemn. Law + Love = convict. Jesus is LOVE, so HE fulfills the law by not condemning but by convicting her (v8:11) with LOVE.

“When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.””‭‭John‬ ‭8:12
This is one of my favorite verse and I’ve applied this to my life. When I am closer to God, I feel the light that shines on me and even though darkness tries to over come me his light shines on me and his words protects me.

All religion/culture/people say “sin no more THEN I will never condemn (forgive) you” but ONLY Christianity and Jesus says ” I forgive you and so now go and sin no more”. This is the exact opposite.A life based on received forgiveness is driven by the engine of grace.
A life lived to obtain forgiveness is driven by guilt/fear. Prayachitham will never satisfy a perfect God and worse it can never satisfy ourselves.
His word of pardon is all every soul needs.

Mat 5:17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. – how does Jesus fulfilled the Law in the case of this woman caught in adultery?

I think He fulfilled it by giving Himself as sacrifice towards the love He had n still has for mankind. That’s why He say love overcomes everything.

This is how I understand: The purpose of the Law was to clean a person and draw him/her to attain eternal life. I believe Jesus fulfilled the purpose for which it was written. Over a period Many times we forget the purpose but follow as a ritual.

1. Light
-“Your Word is lamp for my feet, a light on my path” (Psalm 119:105). He is the Word! He is the Light! “…I’m the Light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the Light of life” (v12).
2. Love
-When Jesus said “…let anyone of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her” (v7), everyone went away from that place. Everyone is sinner in this world. Only His pure Love saves us all and unite us all as brothers and sisters through Him.
3. Lift up (Exalt)
-Let’s lift up (exalt) the Son of Man (v28) who always do what pleases the Father (v29), the Blood of Jesus cleanses our sin and conscience. Couldn’t ask for more!

(v29)-though many people did not believe him and rejected him, his father is always by his side. Likewise, if we do things that pleases God and things that are of the will of God, we can be courageous and say that my God is with me always to protect me. God will be guiding, comforting and strengthening us with his presence.

V29) God is always with Jesus because he does what pleases God. Similarly we will never be left alone when we live for him.

Repeating pattern again. Pharisees questioning Jesus regarding the law. Jesus urging/warning them to believe. Many in the crowd end up believing instead

Jesus spent a lot of His time at the temple. Even though the Pharisees couldn’t believe in Jesus they always kept coming to Him with questions (hoping) to prove Him wrong.
