“Very truly, I tell you, the one who believes in me will also do the works that I do and in fact, will do greater works than these” (v. 12) The disciples/followers will do the works of the master/leader and greater works than the master/leader. Classic example to empowering leadership.
See him (14:9), know him (14:7), believe him (12:44), accept him (13:20), all directly tied to the father. How privileged we are to have the revealed Word of God right in our hands.
John 14: 1-14 Jesus’ conversation with his disciples is interesting. Talkative Peter is wondering over the strong words of Jesus, “you will deny me.” The quiet disciples Philip and Thomas are asking good questions, which eventually led to profound truths, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life.” “Whoever have seen me has seen the father”
14:3 I go and prepare a place for you and will come back and take you to be with me. What an amazing promise and hope Jesus has given us.
If we truly believe in Jesus, we can do the works/miracles that Jesus did when He was in this world and even greater works. Yes we can heal sick and perform miracles through him if we believe…
You deed decides what you can do
1. Guarantee
-My Father’s house has many rooms. If you believe me and my Father (God), I will go prepare a place for you, I’ll come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am (v 1-3). Just Believe, that’s it!
-You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it for you (v14). What a promise!
2. Greater things
-Very truly I tell you, whoever “believe in me” will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these (v12). Jesus is willing to use every one of us to do greater things! We should be ready to listen to Him.
3. Glory
-“Believe me”, and I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son (vv 13-14).As you are in me when you believe me, Father is glorified in you as well.
-Let’s live a life that brings glory to the Lord our God!
We should be prepared to go to heaven by believing in him, following him and serving for him.
Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life” Jesus is the way to heaven.
(v1)He is our comforter. Though he knew that he is going to suffer in the cross, he comforts the disciples. He comforts us when our hearts are troubled.(v6) He is our leader, leading us to eternity. He is the way to our eternal life.
(v13,14)He is our provider. He will do what we ask in his name.
(v3)He is our promise. He promised that he will come back and take us there to be with him.
if we believe in Jesus we believe in God the father because God the father sent Jesus.
We can ask Him anything. He will do it.
So that the Son will bring glory to the Father.
Bible says you need to ask what he intend to give and not all . All is a very generic word. Please don’t misunderstand this part .
The need and not the want
our heavenly father has a space in heaven for each and everyone who believes in him. Jesus also has a plan for everyone and knows when and what will happen every minute.
Luke did mention very clearly what to ask that will be given. Luke 11:9-13 he starts my saying Ask in vs 9 and concluded in 13 with what to ask and what shall be given . When you ask what bible tells you to ask then rest what you NEED will be given
6 Jesus said to him , “I am the way , the truth , and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. – Hindus believe in Father and they think Jesus also a way
– Muslims believe in Father and they think Jesus was the way in His time; not now
– We know Jesus is the way. Why? His sinless blood saved us and gave us new life! Salvation is only through Jesus. We are stamped by Holy Spirit ! We don’t just speak theory but we experience.
While driving in a freeway, my son Jadon at age 4 -5, was crying a lot, reason? He wanted to drive the car😄
– Our prayers depend on our spiritual status. Father knows what to give and when to give. What we need is to believe in Father and to understand He is with us always.
