If we really want people to be saved, we have to do two things. The first and the foremost is prayer (v. 1). Next, proclaiming Christ and His Word (vv. 14-17).
Confessing and believing that Jesus is Lord would lead to salvation and justification. We should proclaim Christ so that people will be saved.
v. 13 Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
-(v14)How can they call on without believing? How can they believe without hearing? How can they hear without preaching? How can anyone preach if they are not sent? As a church we have great responsibility in spreading word of God!
-(v15)As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of PEACE, and bring glad tidings of good things. Preachers also have great responsibility in preaching the gospel of PEACE, and putting it in practice!
Pain of Paul is ‘Israelites not accepting Jesus’We see a similar situation. ‘பரம்பரை கிறித்தவன்’ is not accepting Jesus as savior. He has the zeal, but all in flesh 😳
To be saved we have to confess with our mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe the same in our hearts. We don’t have to do anything more or anything less.
Christ is the end of the law so we can be justified and made righteous by faith in Jesus alone. Faith comes by hearing HIS gospel message and responding to HIS calling.
Paul encourages us that “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”(v:13)
He richly blesses and saves all who call on him.Send to preach the good news.
Preach the good news.
Hear the good news and
Believe the good news.
Replace Israelites with Tamilians or Indians and it feels much personal. Our people are like the Jews, zeal without knowledge. How can they hear without someone preaching to them.
