Interesting to see how Jesus was not welcomed on one side of the lake for driving the evil spirit and cleaning the person, but welcomed with a large gathering on the other side of lake, is this because of the type of miracle?Jesus went about doing good on places where he was welcomed, let’s invite HIM.
We see a large group of people who were more concerned with the pigs than the man healed from demon possession (vv. 16, 17). It is very easy to lose our priority if our focus is not right.
The Great Commission to the man who has been delivered from demon possession is: “Go home to your friends, tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and what mercy he shown you” (v. 19). The man instantly and implicitly obeyed.
Jesus heals in different ways. The demon possessed man was to go home to be a witness. Even though He knew that the woman was healed he waited till the woman revealed the truth. Jairus daughter ‘s healing was a strict secret. His time , His way , His will…
(vv.18-20) Jesus said “go home to your own people” and tell them what the Lord has done and the mercy he has had on you.
-I think the great commission should start from our home, immediate relatives, relatives, friends, and the ones who we have access to.
-Believe it or not, people are definitely interconnected one way or other, knowingly or unknowingly, for good or bad! It should be started from a dot, then the dot becomes small circle, small circles make many intersections. That’s how the world is connected, at least today!
(v. 28) She thought “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed …..(V34)”Daughter, Your faith has healed you, go in peace”.
Yes, our faith in God should increase. In times of doubt and weakness let God strengthen us to trust Him and let God help us to increase our faith in Him.
(v. 7) And He cried out with a loud voice and said , “…Jesus , Son of the Most High God…- Unclean spirit knew He is son of God. Do we know? If yes, then why can’t we declare with bold and clear tone to this world?
– even Legion’s prayer got answered by Jesus! …why our prayers are not getting answered?
Jesus said to Jairus, “don’t be afraid.just believe” when we truly believe, there is no fear in the picture. Faith and Fear cannot exist simultaneously.
