Psalm -1 This psalm gives us great promises.-prosperity v3
-presence of God v6
The promises are with some conditions,
-avoid bad company
-delight and meditate on God’s word.
Psalm 1: Blessed is the man who delights in the Word of God and meditates on it day and night (v. 2). In other words, the man who embeds in the Word of God!
Psalm 1: Delight in His Word and meditate it day and night. We will yield fruit in its season and we will prosper in all that we do.
1:6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous. And the righteous know the ways of the Lord because they grow in the knowledge of the Lord.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
His delight is in the law of the Lord
This Psalm is a great one to lead a godly life. It is hard to stay away from evil things/doers and to fight evil spirit within us. Like weight watchers , fill our stomach with good stuff , so we can stay away from bad carbs. Likewise fill our mind and life with spiritual / godly teachings and good fellowship and people. Probably we have to do this on a daily basis
Psalms:1 (V6)The Lord knows the ways of the righteous:
Even though I face ups and downs in my life, God knows my ways. He is my guide who knows the path I have to go. God will protect and guide me all the time.
He is the way!!
Psalms 1: We should be the people that delights in the law of the Lord.
Psalm 1: “meditate the word of God day and night” ver 1-3, the way of righteous
ver4,5 the way of wicked and
ver 6 contrast complete, “For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous” 1:6 கர்த்தர் நீதிமான்களின் வழியை அறிந்திருக்கிறார்.
Psalm1 Righteous people will always talking with God ,read and meditate the bible everyday . then we can bear the fruits .
UnGodly people won’t listen and they won’t pray to God.
The psalm explains 1)What a (good and wicked) man does, v1,2
2)how a man (good and wicked)will be, v3,4
3) ways of the man(good and wicked) v6
The condition and characters of good and wicked people are explained in this psalm. The ungodly people are the reverse of righteous people.
கர்த்தருடைய வேதத்தில் பிரியமாயிருந்து, இரவும் பகலும் அவருடைய வேதத்தில் தியானமாயிருக்கிற மனுஷன் பாக்கியவான்.சங்கீதம் 1:2
Psalm 1-summarizes the contrast between the righteous and the wicked: “For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish”.God says there are two ways of life open to us:1. Righteous- blessed, happy, and fruitful.
2. Wicked- cursed, unhappy and will be judged.
The choice is ours.
“Let your compassion come to me that I may live, for your law is my delight” (Psalm 119:77).
Psalm 1 -No need to be wicked, even if we walk in step “with” the wicked…
-No need to be sinner, even if we “stand” in the way that sinners take…
-No need to do mockery, even if we “sit” in the company of mockers…
-If we are “NONE” of the above “AND…” delight in His word (law) and meditate on His word (law) day and night, “THEN…” we are blessed!
(OT people were given “law” to follow, NT people are given “Word” [Jesus] to follow. So, law is replaced by Word.)
He is like the tree planted by the river.
1) Never look/ like/ link (see/wish/select/choose) the sinners track in our life.2) God should make clear(differentiate) of his people and others.
3) He knows all our ways. So need not to worry about anything to take the next step forward.
V2 Not just reading but meditating word of God, not just in the morning but day and night…I could do this only when I find it exciting!
Meditating in the word like a root of tree soaked in the deep waters by a riverbed… It is his/her secret. They get their nourishment by “soaking” into Gods word.
A tree grows stronger everyday by replenishing its cells and healing itself while growing in size. This metaphorically shows us that we can replenish our energy each day with the energy that God gives us and we will continually grow wiser in his word by meditating on it day and night. – Nithin
“For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.” – Psalm 1:6 – Nirmal
Psalm 1: 2. Need to not just read but mediate the Word of God, his Word only.
“That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.”Psalm 1:3 NIV
We need to meditate in Gods word day and night and also we need to understand the deeper meaning those words. If so, we’ll be like the tree which is planted but steams of water so we can yield more fruits and replenish more.
“That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers. Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away.”Psalm 1:3-4 NIV
V3:People who mediate on Gods word can accomplish anything and
V4: people who don’t meditate in Gods word will fall in the wrong paths so they won’t be able to accomplish anything.
