Psalm 45: Speak gracious words and love righteousness; God blesses and anoints with the oil of gladness (vv. 2, 7).
Psalm 45- This Psalm talks about the king who defends truth, humility, and justice.My prayer is that God will bless rulers with these qualities.
“My heart is stirred by a noble theme as I recite my verses for the king; my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer.In your majesty ride forth victoriously in the cause of truth, humility and justice; let your right hand achieve awesome deeds.
You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.”
Psalm 45:1, 4, 7
David is overwhelmed and rejoices in the name of our Lord. In here also talks about how we should be righteous. And God will bless us with the oil of joy (V7) so we can rejoice like David.
Psalm 45 reminds me of what angels do in heaven: praise God for all the wonderful things He has done. Many times when praying, I ask God for many things to happen, but I skip over praising him. This psalm reminds me to always praise God because he is worthy of our praise. –
“Your throne, O God will last for ever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom.” ~ Psalm 45:6. God will reign forever and ever and he will bless everyone who follow his way. –
This wedding psalm , reminds me of the church as a bride. Vs 10 could mean that Christ loves His bride and even though the world lures the church with worldliness He wants us to honor Him alone.
Psalm 45- (v. 7) “You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set above your companions by anointing you with oil of joy.” We must always love what is right and hate what is evil . Then God will bless us.
Your throne, O God,will last for ever and ever;
Psalm 45: Ride on…for the cause of truth, meekness and righteousness (v. 4)
My tongue is pen of a ready scribeThis Psalm is set to music. It is not a random rambling from a tongue but has a craft, balance, and precision of a thoughtful writer.
Even in the most beautiful moment there is exactness of expression. This is poetry with logic and description with delight.
It is a Psalm when speech (tongue) is controlled by grammar of writer.
Too many people think we need to be “authentic” and “express” their feeling. This Psalm says that is incomplete. We need worship to not just as an expression ( what we feel to God) but also formation ( from God to us). Otherwise worship reduces to sound without sense.
Psalm 45 -(v6) Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. The scepter of your kingdom is scepter of uprightness.
-He is the King of kings and Lord of Lords, forever and ever.
