Psalm 57

Psalm 57: Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth.

Psalm 57: First, the psalmist confidently cries to God “be merciful to me” (vv. 1-2). Second, the psalmist confidently claims that God will send forth his steadfast love and his faithfulness (v. 3). Finally, the psalmist confidently concludes that His steadfast love is as high as the heavens; His faithfulness extends to the clouds” (v. 10).

In ancient days, every one had a tear bottle that they carried to places of grief to store their and other tears. It was a way of recording their grievances and preserve it. V.8:Tears are sacred. They are precious to God. He stores “my” tears in “his” bottle. Many times when I went to buy a house, they showed me how a house had a wine cellar. Most of them were supposed to showcase a collection of wines. Here one can imagine God has a tear cellar in his house, where every single tear is recorded in his bottle and when we visit him, he will show us that none was left in the wind. Tears in the pillow, tears of abandonment, tears of pain, tears of monstrous evil and of course our tears that we have against God when we don’t understand what is happening.
This goes against the modern notion that tears must never be shared. It is comforting to know Jesus tears are mingled with ours in Gods bottle.

57:2 I cry out to God most High to God, who fulfills his purpose for me.

“Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth.(V5) Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth.”(11)
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭57:5, 11‬ ‭
God show everyone that you are the, Lord of EVERYTHING!

Psalm 57: In verse 3 it says that,”God will send forth steadfast love and his faithfulness.”God does this because he loves us.

Psalm 57:(v9) I will praise you Lord among the nations, I will sing of you among the peoples.
It is not enough to just have a thankful heart, but we must also use our tongue to proclaim how mighty is our God. Sing praises to his name with songs. Do not delay in praising God.
(v8,7) 🎵AWAKE…AWAKE…AWAKE my soul!🎵
I will sing and make music.
(v11) He is exalted above all nations.

Like the previous psalm, Psalm 57 is a prayer of David when he fled from Saul into a cave. In both psalms, David prays to God to protect him from his enemies. However, in Psalm 57 David also praises God for the mercy and have God has given him. Even when we are facing troubles, we should always praise God for his grave and mercy. –

Psalm 57:10. God’s love and faithfulness is so much for us so we should use his love and show it to others to bring others to Christ.

“I will praise you, Lord, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples. For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies.”‭‭Psalm‬ ‭57:9-10‬.
We should always praise God and worship his holy name and God shows us love so that we can spread the word of God so that others might follow him with us.

Psalm 57 -(v3) God shall send from heaven, and “save” me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his “mercy” and his “truth”.
-Jesu said “I am the Truth” (John 14:6). God did send His Truth!
-God loved us so much and sent his Son (Jesus) as an atoning sacrifice for “our” sins (1 John 4:10), so we can be saved! That is God’s mercy on us!

Psalm 57: 1.David begins with prayer (v:1-6).
2.He concludes with praises and thanksgiving (v: 7-11).
In our supplications and in our thanksgiving our heart needs to be fixed to sing and give praise.
