Psalm 76 -(v10) Surely your wrath against mankind brings you praise, and the survivors of your wrath are restrained.
-God’s wrath would destroy the wicked people, the righteous will be saved as it happened to Lot in Sodom and Gomorrah.

Psalm 77: The natural tendency when things go wrong is to ask questions such as “Where is God?” “Has God forgotten me?” (vv. 8-9). Instead, the psalmist teaches us to call to mind the deeds of the Lord, remember His wonders, meditate on all his work, and marvel his mighty deeds (vv. 11-12). As we do this we would certainly acknowledge as Psalmist, “Your way, O God, is holy… You are the God who works wonders” (vv. 13-14).

Psalm 77: in this psalm something had happened to him or his people. God let the Bad thing and did not give help. Did this mean God has forgotten his people? No! He also acknowledges that God has helped before and if we remained humble and have faith in God he will help us again.

I will ponder all your work, and meditate on your mighty deeds. – Psalm 77:12 Even during difficult times, psalmist takes time to ponder all the mighty works and deeds of God.

Psalm 77: Asaph starts of questioning God’s ability when seeking Him on the day of trouble. Later from vs 10 he has a different approach and starts focusing on the miracle working God. In reality this is so true! We add on worries and doubts when we start questioning but we gain peace and calmness if we meditate on God’s faithfulness.

Psalm 77: A God of wonder and power, who orders the waters, clouds, thunder, and lightning is probably not as awe-inspiring to us as it was to the Israelites a few thousand years back. But imagine that same God with unimaginable power and glory redeeming us with his mighty arm, leading us like a flock, personally. That’s pretty awesome.

Psalm 77- Asaph could not tolerate God’s silence. Like us he complains and whines but he did not stop there. He switches gear to remember the deeds of God and the wonders of old.His complaining turns into praise and thanks giving.

Psalm 77:11 I will remember the works of the Lord: surely I will remember thy wonders of old.

Psalm 77 -(v14) You are the God who performs miracles.
-He is the one who does everything. If we remain in Him, and He remains in us, He does use us to fulfill His will. Apart from Him we can do nothing (John 15:5).

This trend has to change. I am talking about my own Indian CSI churches.
I am unable think about Hindus or Muslims to get changed as I could not find many Christians in churches.
– While expressing this, I get a quesrion ‘am I judging others?’…I am not sure but I am concerned that the churches to get cleaned.

This Psalm is unique in its lamenting. It is what is known as the Psalm of disorientation. Mostly the Psalmist prays to God about his life of incoherence and confusion and expects God to change the future. But not this Psalm.This Psalmist turns to memory. A locus of events that has happened in the past. But ultimately while power is great, our hearts need a God who is very very personal. There is no greatness is general God, we need a covenant God. Looks how the Psalms ends “you” lead “your people” like a “flock”.
It does not say “God loves humanity” ( very hard to find such modern notions in a covenant literature). We have a personal God who leads by his arm.

Sometimes this is a problem!

Many Christians believe, Now I am a believer and my faith will answer all my problems and doubts. But this 77 is opposite to our thinking, no one understood this better than Jesus. Think about the agony in Gethsemane, He cries out to the Father saying, I don’t understand what is going on. “நான் தேவனை நோக்கி என் சத்தத்தை உயர்த்திக் கெஞ்சினேன், என் சத்தத்தை தேவனிடத்தில் உயர்த்தினேன், அவர் எனக்குச் செவிகொடுத்தார்”

In Psalm 77, Asaph remembers God’s redemptive works for His people. In verses 16-19, the weather and nature itself trembles in fear of God because He is powerful and everlasting. Our God does wonders; we should praise Him for his mercy and care. –

Psalm 77:1-3. When we are heavily distressed and troubled, and when we cry out to God, he will give us the comfort we need and will make sure everything is right. –
