Psalm 143: David gives equal importance to praying to God and hearing from God. “Hear my prayer…give ear to my pleas….answer me” (v. 1); “Answer me quickly” (v. 7) exemplify David’s prayer. “Let me hear in the MORNING…make me know the way I should go” (v. 8); “Teach me to do your will…let your good Spirit lead me” (v. 10) exemplify David’s hearing attitude.

There is a huge difference between “Teach me your will and I will do it” vs “Teach me to do your will”. First asks for instruction, second for guidance. First one is enthusiastic but impractical while the second one is a bit humbling and practical. One is asking for a manual for life, the other is asking for a man in our life. One says knowledge is the problem the other recognizes obedience is the problem. One is the words of a student, the other the words of the disciple

One says knowledge is power, other say is acknowledging is power

1 கர்த்தாவே, என் ஜெபத்தைக்கேளும், என் விண்ணப்பங்களுக்குச் செவிகொடும், உமது உண்மையின்படியும் உமது நீதியின்படியும் எனக்கு உத்தரவு அருளிச்செய்யும். சங்கீதம் 143 :1

Psalm 143:The more we consider the power of God, the less we shall fear the face or force of man. David looks up with earnest desires towards God.

அதிகாலையில் உமது கிருபையைக் கேட்கப்பண்ணும் உம்மை நம்பியிருக்கிறேன் நான் நடக்கவேண்டிய வழியை எனக்குக் காண்பியும் உம்மிடத்தில் என் ஆத்துமாவை உயர்த்துகிறேன்- சங்கீதம் 143:8

10 உமக்குப் பிரியமானதைச் செய்ய எனக்குப் போதித்தருளும், நீரே என் தேவன்; உம்முடைய நல்ல ஆவி என்னைச் செம்மையான வழியிலே நடத்துவாராக.

கர்த்தாவே உம்முடைய நாமத்தினிமித்தம் என்னை உயிர்ப்பியும் உம்முடைய நீதியின்படி என் ஆத்துமாவை இடுக்கத்திற்கு நீங்கலாக்கிவிடும் [சங்கீதம் 143 : 11]

Psalm 143 -(v10) Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.
-I surrender myself, reveal and teach me to do your will, as you did to David. Spirit of God will guide and strengthen me.
