(v1-v2)As the deer pants for the water brooks , So pants my soul for You , O God. My soul thirsts for God , for the living God.
Psalm 42: In times of tears and agony others will challenge us, “Where is your God?” (vv. 3, 10). I will yet praise my savior and my God.
As a deer pants for flowing streams, let my soul long for you, O God. – Psalm 42

“My bones suffer mortal agony as my foes taunt me, saying to me all day long, ‘Where is your God?'” ~ Psalm 42:11. Even though people make fun of our God and us being a Christian, we shouldn’t be affected by that and we should keep praising our God. –
Psalm 42Living God

-To prove that He is the Living God, He raised from death!
-Whenever our soul downcast or so disturbed within us, we need to put our hope in our Living God, and praise Him.
1 மானானது நீரோடைகளை வாஞ்சித்துக் கதறுவதுபோல, தேவனே, என் ஆத்துமா உம்மை வாஞ்சித்துக் கதறுகிறது. – One of the greatest expressions of David! Do I have such a thirst?
– Whenever I felt low, I recited this verse in my mind. It gave me great relief.
One can imagine a stag with parched throat braying with it’s big black eyes moist. One more step without water it will explode into tears. This the condition of the soul of this singer. The theme of this Psalm seems to use the imagery of water a lot in a negative sense . Tears, Flowing streams, thirst, deep calls to deep, roaring waterfalls, billows and waves. It reminds us of chaotic waters before creation. What is the hope admits such waters of chaos? Last verse provides the answer.
