Psalm:50″14. Offer to God thanksgiving , And pay your vows to the Most High.
15. Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you , and you shall glorify Me.”

Psalm 51: God desires truth in the inward being (v. 6) as He looks at the heart. I think that’s why David cries out to God: “Create in me a clean heart” (v. 10). Sin depraves us of joy and gladness and separates us from God (v. 8). Broken and a contrite heart restores us the joy of salvation and draws us to God (vv. 12, 17).

Psalm 51 is David’s prayer of repentance. David’s strategy while dealing with his sin is facing it, confessing it to God, and being forgiven. Verses 12-13 show us that after we are forgiven, we should teach others about God and how to forgive, closely mirroring the Lord’s Prayer. –
