Psalm:63″7. Because You have been my help , Therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice.
8. My soul follows close behind You; Your right hand upholds me. ”
Without God in my life I’m nothing. But with Him I can do all things.
Psalm 64″10. The righteous shall be glad in the Lord , and trust in Him. And all the upright in heart shall glory. ”
God’s faithful answer to prayer would demonstrate that He is worthy of trust, and build the faith of the righteous.
When David says,” O God thou art my God”… This Is not a plea of a man who suddenly needs God but has no idea who God is . This Psalm simply does not do that. This is a deep cry of a man who already has a covenant relationship with God.
For those who know this covenant and the God of the covenant , a soul fainting (v1) can change to feasting (v 5). For rest , God remains a magician.
Or worse an ATM/vending machine which when you punch the right codes/cards gives what you need
Do all you want no relationship is going to come out of a vending machine. That’s difference between God of religions and David’s God.
Psalm 64: God will deal with the wicked. “Let the righteous rejoice in the Lord and take refuge in Him” (v. 10).
Psalm 64:1 Hear my voice O God in my prayer
Psalm 64:(v3) They sharpen their tongue like swords and aim cruel words like deadly arrows.
The wicked use their tongue as a sword to hurt others.
Psalm 50:23 says, “He who brings an offering of praise and thanksgiving honors and glorifies Me.”
We have to use our tongue to praise God and to proclaim his goodness.
(Psalm 35:28) My tongue will proclaim your righteousness, your praises all day long.
Psalm 64: David prayed for protection from enemies. We should also pray like that.
“Hear me, my God, as I voice my complaint; protect my life from the threat of the enemy.”Psalm 64:1.
We should call unto God and he will save us from the troubles.
–
Psalm 64: David was asking God to protect him from his enemies. He did not want to involve in their secret plots. He wanted God to take care of the evildoers so that they will all fear the Lord. If we have any enemies then we should ask God to take care of them. God is a God of justice.
Many times we are oppressed by troubles or by others. Psalm 64 says that even if we are oppressed by the wicked, we should rejoice in the Lord because He will protect His people. This psalm is interesting because it says that God will punish them with the same instrument that they were planning on hurting others with. This signals to me that the wicked will destroy themselves without knowing what happened. We should treat others how we want to be treated and honor God. –
Psalm 64:9. God has done so many miracles and works for us that are countless. We should always thank him for what he has done. –
The real Olympic medalistWatching the Olympics makes the Psalm a beautiful read. There is an archery match going on between David’s enemies. Who is going to hit David, which angle is the best, what is the most vulnerable part and how can we do it to surprise him suddenly (3,4,5). They use (many) arrow”s” (v3) to take David down. David is stuck and afraid, constantly afraid. He has no escape and prays to God (v.1).
God loves David and he enters the arena and he used only “a arrow” (v8) and it is a bull’s eye. Game over. Audience are nodding the head in amazement (v8). With a single arrow, he wounds all of them. He is the real Olympic champion. Next day papers announce it to the world (v9)
Let us the refuge on his power (v10)and exult. His eyes are always on his children and it is always a bulls eye when he shoots!
David’s fight was against human kings or human enemies. But our fight is against spiritual kings and spiritual enemies. They try to spoil our spiritual growth and eternal life. Who are these kings?
They are the kings. They act against our spiritual growth & eternal life. They are our enemies. பரிகரிக்கப்படும் கடைசி சத்துரு மரணம். Our last enemy is death. Let us learn from David and pray to win our spiritual battle!
Psalm 64: Not only do the papers talk about His achievement the next day, everyone who reads about it fears Him and considers what He has done (v. 9). They all declare His works. That’s how He gets His glory and that’s how we glorify Him.
Psalm 64, a Christian should prayer to the Lord when troubles near and should remain their faith
“Hear me, my God, as I voice my complaint; protect my life from the threat of the enemy.”Psalm 64:1
David prayers to God to save him from his enemies so he’s praying! We should do the same and the most important thing is for us to remain in the same faith and trust the Lord when troubled near us.
Psalm 64:10- The righteous shall be glad in the Lord and trust in him and all the upright in heart shall glory– Trusting in our Lord would not only bring joy but also increases our faith.
Psalm 64 -(v9) “All people will fear….”
-Practically, the fear factor is the one that would bring us closer to God.
-But, fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding (Proverbs 9:10).
