Psalm 78: In this Psalm, God’s generosity and Israelites’ meanness is repeatedly illustrated. “God divided the sea and made the waters stand like a heap…, yet they sinned still more against him, rebelled against him, tested him, spoke against him” (vv. 13-19). God has been generous with us. We ought to be grateful and we ought to be guides to the next generation.
Psalm 78- It is good to have fresh memories of God’s faithfulness in our life. Remembering, and rehearsing will benefit us and our next generation.
Psalm 78: 4-6, It’s good to share the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power and the wonders he had done. When we share this with our children and believers it’s called enrichment. We all have opportunities to share it with non-believers it’s called evangelism.
Psalm 78 -(v7) Asaph reminds his people of what God has done so that…: “the next generation, even the children yet to be born, would put their trust in God so they would keep his commands/words”.
-Are we witnessing, thanking or telling our children what God has done to us?
-That’s the only way to have our children to put their trust in God and keep his words!
It is good to look back from our early years to understand how wonderful God has lead us through sofar. It gives us a hope that He will lead us through during the rest of of our life.
Psalm 78:38- Yet he was merciful; he forgave their iniquities and did not destroy them.
Time after time he restrained his anger.
In our life, many times we need God to forgive our iniquities and restrain his anger. Thank you Lord for your mercy.
